The Valley Recap: Dude Looks Like a Lady (S2:E8)

Welcome back to Dayton Valley Talk! If you haven't already, check out my hilarious recaps of earlier episodes.

The Valley is a Dayton-produced reality show, featuring favorite players from Season 1 and a set of new 18-24 year-olds who really should spin off into their own African American version (minus Don B). Everyone has something to prove. So what’s your story?

The cast includes:

Noelle: Shops at Goodwill
Sol: Wears half a shirt
Casey: Has small feet
Alexys: Pushes Casey in a shopping cart
Don B (not pictured): Insulted a transgender lady
Ellis (not pictured): Watcha gonna do when they come for you

Last episode Sol and Don B go trick riding, they solve a puzzle, Aaron runs out of tank tops, a Pastor sweats, and surprisingly Don B the rapper doesn't scare kids at the Celtic Festival.

Theme song: “Do you have what it takes?” to awkwardly chat with the drag queen you insulted, to hold your own on the mean streets of Dayton, to select bosom-covering outfits?

First Adventure: Don B and a transgender person hang out at The Greene
Amaya is a seven-year transgender woman. She is beautiful.

Amaya drag queen? Amaya woman? Sorry. But maybe she should have chosen a name that doesn't beg the question.

Apparently, she is the same drag queen that got Nathan to twerk last season. We won't hold that against her.

I guess they have Don B on tape making some not-so-enlightened comments about her from that night.

They show footage of Don B rapping and Amaya dancing to the beat. He should be nicer to her, just for that.

They have an awkward in-person meeting about pronouns.

Second Adventure: City of Dayton Safety Building
My sweetie Ellis gets to meet with Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl. They talk about careers in law enforcement.

Ellis wants to protect and serve. Have I mentioned that he is too good for this show?

Chief Biehl: "My son spent the day with me and said Dad, your job is boring."

Ellis gets to go on a ride along with handsome officer Purdue.

Oh, snap. Officer: "Did you see that Century?" Lights and sirens!

Ellis: "The dopest thing just happened. This is real life, not fake."

They arrested a guy with guns and drugs.

I want a new show that features Ellis, officer Perdue and little Trevon from episode 4 all solving Dayton crime together.

Third Adventure: Goodwill
Noelle and Sol, Casey and Alexys team shop for interview outfits for two women with $25 and 45 minutes.

Sol: "This is my area of expertise."

Alexys: "Finally I am partnered with someone as competitive as me who doesn't end up hating me after."

Noelle reacting to a red dress: "What is she? Carmen Sandiego?

Alexys pushes Casey around in a cart.

Noelle: "I'm going to come back here and buy some of this stuff for myself."

Goodwill lady: You both win.

Next week they raise money with former Dayton resident and current Cincinnati Bengal AJ Hawk, Ryan shares his redneck past with his big haired momma.
